Belleville Child Care Center program is based on the philosophy that each child and his/her family is unique with individual needs and developmental patterns. The Child Care Center is dedicated to expanding and enhancing the human potential. It seeks to stimulate the development of each child.
Belleville Child Care Center will provide a safe, stimulating, healthy, and nurturing environment for its children. Curriculum planning focuses on learning as an interactive process. Children learn through playing. The teacher’s role is as facilitator, allowing the children to construct his/her own knowledge from the experiences offered and to develop confidence and independence. It is our belief that a good program offers both directed and non-directed activities, which encourage children to plan and think about what they are doing.
Through group and individual activities, each child is encouraged to develop emotionally, socially, creatively, and intellectually at his/her own rate. The climate of each room will promote a sense of belonging, love, self-confidence, and mutual respect. The carefully planned classroom environments will encourage cognitive development, curiosity, multicultural and gender awareness, problem solving, creativity, and social and emotional growth. There will be opportunities to express feelings and ideas through various art media, music, and dance. Classroom and outdoor activities will facilitate both gross and fine motor learning and provide each child with the opportunity to enjoy these skills through active participation.
